We were so honored to be able to participate in the 7th Annual Poway Emergency and Safety Fair, put on by the Poway Neighborhood Emergency Corps. PNEC assists the community with emergency preparedness and provides vital information and communication during emergencies. They organize this free yearly fair for the community of Poway to encourage planning that will save homes and keep families safe during the busy fire season and throughout the year.
We loved having the opportunity to educate community members about the safety risks associated with biohazards and hoarding situations. It was great to meet so many neighbors and answer lots of questions about what our company does.
It was wonderful to walk around and see the other groups advocating for and educating about community and home safety. The City of Poway was represented by its Community Emergency Response Team and its Safety Services Department, including Fire Suppression, Fire Prevention, Emergency Medical Services, and Law Enforcement Services. Other groups hosting booths included the Trauma Intervention Program, Palomar Radio Club, SD Crime Prevention, Senior Volunteer Patrol/YANA, Girl Scouts, Boy Scouts, SDG&E, Red Cross, Animal Rescue Preserve, Poway Fire Safe Council, SD County District Attorney's Victims Assistance Program and Fraud Division, and Be Ready Emergency Supplies. The Poway Kiwanis Club presented their "Kid Safety Program" and gave out children's bicycle helmets.
Overall, the Poway Emergency and Safety Fair was an incredible informative event, and we encourage our community to attend in the future. We would like to thank the Poway Neighborhood Emergency Corp for including us and for hosting such a well-organized event.
